Game Notes
The Celtics return home after a quick two games road trip on back to back games Friday and Saturday nights. Tonight's game against the Orlando Magic will be the first three games in four nights run for the Celtics this season. The Celtics are coming off a surprisingly tough 103-101 victory over the Knicks in New York Saturday night.

Orlando comes into the TD Garden on a two game losing streak and will also be playing in their own three games in four night stretch. In their last game in Philadelphia versus the Sixers, they played tough in a very close 116-115 loss.

The Celtics will have to play without Aron Baynes who hurt his hamstring in the win over the Knicks but should have star smaal forford Gordon Hayward back after he rested his ankle last game. The Celtics need to get their offense out of the early season funk it has been in. The only players that have been consistent over the first three games have been Jayson Tatum, who is averaging 21 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game, and Marcus Morris off the bench who has been giving the Celtics a nice 13.3 points a game off the bench.

Stevens needs to get the starting five flowing better offensively and try to incorporate Brown  better while balancing the need to get Irving and Hayward back to speed and getting Tatum his shots. Without Baynes, Stevens will need to get a significant rebounding presence from all players and a solid game from Daniel Theis. Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon will kill the Celtics on the boards on both ends if the team doesn't get an all around effort to rebound.

Orlando should be getting Jonathan Simmons back after missing the last game. The Magic are, like the Celtics, very long and athletic and has been getting solid offense this year from Vucevic. Gordon and Evan Fournier as all three players are averaging between 17 and 18.7 points per game. Where the Magic will struggle is that bench is not very good except for Terrance Ross and they will need to have journeyman starting PG, D. J. Augustin attempt to shut down Celtics star, Kyrie Irving.

Hey what happened to this thread(s)?  I was the #2 poster yesterday (my highest ever) when there were 2 threads for the same game.  Guess the one I posted in was deleted.   :(

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

When setting up this thread, somehow two early, still yet to be edited and finished other threads got saved. So there were actually three game threads there for the same game, two being open and wrong and the still unfinished real one being locked.

Have patience guys. I am still very new to this and have a lot going on personally with the recent death of my mom. I will get the threads open as soon as I can and then update them with injuries right up to game time.

nick, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Makes my game thread issue seem pretty meaningless.  In the long run, sports are simply a pastime with no durable value.

This probably is not popular to say but it could make it easier. The ball will not stick as much. For everything Morris gives he will eventually give it back.

Let's go Celts! I would like to see a special game from Kyrie for the first time this year. Need a double digit easy win. I don't want to see the Magic have a chance like NY did the other day.
