I feel like if the Patriots were willing to meet his price this would haven already been done.

I think he would be nuts to leave, it would be a sure sign of hubris to think at age 43 or whatever he is he can transplant himself to a brand new team and be successful.

But then again who knows what's in his heart? He may be miserable in New England for all we know. I thought Kyrie was a lock to stay in Boston too until he wasn't. I'm sure Chicagoans thought that Jordan would retire as a Bull.

I think it would be silly for him though.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

This makes me sad if true.

He should retire with Pats.

I sure hope this is a made-up story. It would feel awfully weird seeing Brady in a different uniform over the next couple of years and I highly doubt it would work out for him. I guess he sat down and talked with Joe Montana a while back and Montana urged Brady to not leave New England. Things would really have to be fractured in NE for him to leave and that would make me a little sad, too.

Agree.....and...

The Gs are responsible for this.

Gisele and guru Guerrero.

Dump them both....they both want him out of town.

Nah. The big E is the main culprit.

Ego.

Both Brady and Belichick have been at the top of the game for 20 years. That's gonna build some resentment in regards to who deserves more credit. To me, that's the driving force behind all of this.

And you know what? I'm okay with that.

I mainly agree with you, RJD1974, and TP AND WELCOME AND KEEP POSTING.

But I feel that the Gs fueled Brady’s E.

Guerrero  has had an ax to grind with the patriots for a while. Pouty, privileged Gisele (man, Bridgette was a lot cooler) seemed to take any slights to her man as an affront to her.

It’s kind of ironic that the egos that are driving these guys apart now  are the things that were keeping them together and fueling their desire to achieve and stay together for so long

The G that would have bothered me the most would have been Jimmy G, if he had won the Super Bowl.

I also think that Jimmy G was the turning point in the belechick/ Brady relationship. Brady got Kraft to make Bellechick trade Jimmy G. The coach got p---ed and traded him away for nothing. That was a big middle finger to Kraft and the patriots organization.

2016 Mariota was pretty solid - 2017 Mariota, however, sucked. Not sure he's the answer.

If we are looking at 2015 draft QBs give me Winston over Mariota.  Keeping Brady would still be my preference though.

Super ew on Winston. He's a headcase that I think might be too stupid, football IQ wise, to be a good quarterback. If the QB whisperer Bruce Arians can't fix Winston, he's done. Buying low on Mariota with a cheap 1 year deal, on the other hand, is intriguing to me. I see the Pats going down this path if they really like what they see from Jarrett Stidham, and is simply looking for a stop gap.

Yeah, Jameis seems like a complete loose cannon in almost every regard. A 33/30 year is not something I think I could deal with, lol.

I'd be okay with Mariota I guess. If Carr becomes available I'd like him too

Personally, I'd be on the "Lose for Lawrence" train if Brady leaves. Grab a crap placeholder QB. Trade all our big assets for draft picks. Gilmore should be able to fetch at least a 1 and a 2, and you could probably get a 2 or 3 for Hightower. Guy might generate a decent return too. Trade Edelmen to wherever Brady goes. Suck for a season. Draft Lawrence in '21.

And then off to the races!

That might be the way to go, especially because I can't imagine any free agents wanting to come here if Brady leaves. It would definitely hurt though - so many of our old guys are fun, like the McCourty's, Hightower, Slater, & Edelman have all been great servants.
It helps that Lawrence is a super legit talent. Great arm, improving as a runner, great physical profile, high IQ. Has it all really. Maybe try and ship Sanu too.

Will be really interesting to see how the Pats draft.
