Since the trade of Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks from the Nuggets, (including playoff games) the Nuggets are 30-16 and the Knicks are 20-27.

I understand that other factors are involved in a team's win-loss record, but is there possibly a more OVER-rated player in the NBA?

I'll give you a TP for that. Most interesting thread I've seen here in quite a while. That just blows my mind because I really do think Melo is a top 10 - 15 player. Good for the Nuggets, and kind of a "haha" to the Knicks yet again.

I haven't liked what the Knicks have done with their new "contender". The team just doesn't work, adding Chandler was just another big blunder.

Eh, Melo is getting too much heat for that, I think.

To me it just shows what we saw with the Heat last season: simply having a superstar or two isn't enough, you need a supporting cast.

The Nuggets are a MUCH deeper team.

Still, it's a lot easier to get depth than it is to get a superstar.  The Knicks made a good trade.

I disagree, the move to make was to call Melo and Nuggets bluff and sign him in FA once they demanded everything and the kitchen sink.

By giving up all of their quality players at the guard position they've crippled their team for the foreseeable future.

Carmello is a back hole, a powerful one, who doesn't make his teammates better, doesn't fit alongside Amar'e and doesn't play D'antoni's system well. Trading Gallo, Chandler and Felton for him was a huge mistake.

I have to agree here. They should explore what they can get for Amare via trade, or, even better, trade Carmelo Anthony's overrated butt.

Gerald Wallace and Raymond Felton for Melo makes NYK better.

Paul George and Darren Collison for Melo makes NYK better, and they can probably get another (desperately needed) frontcourt player as well.

Kyle Lowry, Patrick Patterson, and Chandler Parsons for Melo and Shumpert makes the Knicks better.

Heck, it makes the Knicks a lot better. I'd start watching Knicks games consistently.

The fact that Denver is doing so well without 2 starters (chandler and KMart) and their scorer off the bench (Smith) is amazing and an even bigger joke on Carmelo.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Carmelo is a top 15 player in this league.  The disparity in records is more a reflection of what NYK gave up compared to what they received.  Their goal was clean house and form a big three just like MIA, but getting CP3 didn't quite work out.

Look at the Knick roster; they have to play guys like Bill Walker, Landry Fields, and Tony Douglas significant minutes.  Fields and Douglas have had their moments, but they are few and far between.

Pretty much what everybody says.

Melo+Amare are not complimentary players (whereas what they sent out did complement Amare). They lost Billups which is a pretty big deal.

On the other hand, I hope the Nuggets go far. The way superstars are teaming up is really becoming a joke (Just look at what Deron Williams is doing right now. Seriously.)

Can you believe that people are actually saying that we started this fad with our own big three? Danny traded for the big three with assets. Plus, they all served their teams and gave it their best. The Wolves and the Supersonics cannot really ask for more from KG and Ray.

Wow, Gallo gave his response to who won that trade in impressive fashion tonight.

Agree with others and felt it was bad at the time.  The Knicks totally shot themselves in the foot.
Maybe they can salvage the situation by trading Melo, Amare, or both.

Mello is a gifted player, and is a scoring machine, being a team player does not come natural to him.  He has always been  the best man on his team /leading scorer probally since 8th grade. He can be a complete player , but you see him having to actually think about it on court. Kinda funny, passing the ball or setting up another player doesn't come natural.

I really don't enjoy watching them play ...nor do I care for the coach.

NY was better off in the long run by a mile not getting Mello.  Maybe they can trade him for somebody or 's that will make the team better.

anyway they made their bed , deal with it.
