I don't see why this is even a question.  You take the best pick 100% of the time.

I was curious to see how much Fork The Lakers sentiment there was on this board right now. I guess not as much as I thought there might be.

Maybe seeing them get slaughtered in the playoffs has a certain thrill?

I think it’s because they’re not very threatening at the moment.

This only becomes a tough hypothetical if the playoff team is one of the highest seeds/lowest picks and has a strong chance of winning a title. I don't care about the Lakers being 1st round fodder.

Yeah, a real NBA “Sophie’s choice” might be:

a) The Lakers and Lebron win the title; or

b) The Kings pick lands #1, conveying to Philly
What a vile choice this is

Kings 11th, Lakers 7th. Interesting possibility is that the Lakers could then play the Warriors first round, which could mean they could be first round exits in that scenario.

Lakers could finish first in the west for all I care, as long as they don’t win a title. I’d actually prefer they climb the standings for an even worse pick, as they aren’t making serious noise in the playoffs.
