I'm not usually a big "that national broadcast guy is a homer or anti-Celtics" guy, but when things started going south for the Celts last night my aggravation was double by Reggie's enthusiasm.  At one point he openly said "this is what WE have to do" in reference to the Knickerbockers.

Head is still spinning a bit this morning.  Though I have to say, much less so than game 1.  Last night I was more resigned to the inevitability than I was in Game 1.  Holding onto a loose string hope is not exactly was expecting here.

Reggie made a career out of the killing the Knicks. Why he is rooting for them now?

That is a weird marriage.
Reggie's long been known to have a deep hatred for the Celtics because he couldn't get past them/Bird.  it's still noticeable whenever he's covering a C's game

Unfortunately, he got past them in 2005. Celtics had a chance to retire Miller and blew Game 7 at home.  That was a rough series.  Celtics were the 3 seed. That was the Gary Payton year where they brought back Antoine mid-season. Fun squad.  Celtics laid a total egg in Game 7 and got their doors blown off.

Between the Bruins and the Celtics there have been many epic collapses in "the new building".  That one is right up there with the worst.

What's even more frustrating is that I still don't think New York really did anything to us defensively to make our offense that bad. We were literally just not hitting wide open shots and had nothing else to turn to.

Yeah, both frustrating + encouraging in a way.

Frustrating because it is self inflicted.

Encouraging because NY is not offering anything that should stop this team from beating NY and advancing to the next round.

I liked that lineup NYK had late in Q4.

G: Brunson
G: M Bridges
F: J Hart
F: KAT
C: M Robinson

This group had great offensive rebounding. They let Brunson and M Bridges play one-on-one and hoist up a shot. Then attacked the offensive glass relentlessly.

M Robinson and KAT kept the Celtics bigs (Tatum, Horford) occupied while J Hart chased down any long rebounds. If it was a close rebound, M Robinson & KAT have a huge size advantage. They got 4-5 offensive rebounds in as many minutes attacking this rebounding advantage. Those 2nd chance opportunities allowed them to close the gap and tie game.

KAT had 2 offensive boards.
J Hart had 2 offensive boards.
M Robinson had 1 offensive boards.

All in the last 6 minutes or so.

It was an effective group. Although helped by M Bridges being hot early in Q4 to give them that extra offensive boost / shot creation needed to off-set the more limited offensive frontcourt.

You guys all realize the Knicks haven't shot well in this series yet right. They have not played their best against us yet.

They missed 14 FTs in Game 1. Game 2 they weathered the storm and took the Celtics out in the same fashion.

Yes I do realize?the Celtics couldve/should?ve won both games by double figures and puked on their own shoes. The Knicks have been mid.

The Celtics are shooting 17% against OG Anunoby so far in these playoffs.

According to the Ringer's Kirk Goldsberry the Celtics have shot 5-29 against OG in games 1 and 2.

Tatum is 2-8, Brown is 1-5, White is 0-6, everyone else is 2-10.

Good job on OG, but can?t help but think this is mostly coincidence?they?re missing wide open shots where OG has been the closest defender

I cannot watch the next game live. If you cannot hold a 20 point 3rd quarter lead in back to back games at HOME it is not worth my time and heart. If they win I will watch on DVR. Same thing for game 4. What ever happened to swinging the ball around making multiple passes until someone had a great wide open shot. That has disappeared and now we cannot even make wide open corner 3s (Pritch & Tatum). I think we play better on the road but if they don't have the heart of a champion then it will be over quickly. Imagine BOS & CLE getting bounced in round 2? Unthinkable.

That would be crazy.

Although I would love to see a Pacers vs Knicks rematch after last season. Indy beat up on an injured Knicks team. I'd like to see NY get some revenge on them.

Apparently there's an article published by The Spun accusing the refs of rigging this game lols. Rigging to help the Knicks win of course

Uh oh, the Celtics had an 80-60 lead tonight, but the day off came back to win the game
