This will skew towards the 90's and later as that's when our biggest gaps were.  I don't know much about the pre-Russell Celtics, so please let me know if I missed some good talent.

Robert Williams

So, best Celtics to never win a championship *with the Celtics*?

Are we only rating their contributions in Boston?  In other words, do we look at how good guys like Paul Westphal, Joe Johnson, Chauncey Billups, etc., became?  Do we look at who Vin Baker, Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq were before coming here?  Or is it just Celtics contributions?

Perhaps Dave Bing

On that disasterous 1977-78 team but he played well. An older player. A former star who was a solid starter for the team.

I love Kenny Anderson.

He didn't have a great run in Boston individually but he often had me on the edge of my seat. I was always waiting for him to do something spectacular. Like he used to do as Georgia Tech, New Jersey Nets, Charlotte Hornets, and the Portland Trail Blazers. The team had good success while he was here even though Kenny was disappointing himself.

These are the guys that stand out to me at first blush. Guys who performed at a high level here but not on title winning teams.

I am a little lower on Nique because he only spent 1 season here.

Yes, with the Celtics - Westphal got a ring as a reserve in 74.
