Alijah Arenas, a top basketball prospect and son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, has been placed in an induced coma after a car crash in Los Angeles, according to reports.

ESPN reported that the 18-year-old was involved in a crash in the early hours of Thursday morning when a Tesla Cybertruck left the road and crashed. The Los Angeles Fire Department did not officially identify the driver but the person was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Alijah Arenas has committed to play basketball at USC, and is considered one of the best prospects of the class of 2025.

Just to clarify, it wasn't "when a Tesla Cybertruck left the road and crashed". He was the driver. The sentence above made it seemed as if someone else and him crashed.

Very sad to see regardless. The coma apparently is to deal with smoke inhalation from the crash. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing based on all the possible scenarios on why a coma would need to be induced from a crash.

What I haven't read is if he was returning or going... as in, was it late at night for him, or early morning.

It has been nice listening to Gilbert Arenas tell stories about his son over the years. Sounds like a good kid & a great bball prospect.

Hopefully, he fully recovers.
