Yes, I know Lopez has had a lot of injury problems.

But, with the shape the Celts are currently in with no light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes a risk isn't necessarily a bad idea.

Anyway, Brooklyn is off to a 6-9 start.

Trust me, I'd rather exhaust all our options WITH Rondo as opposed to without him.

Just wondering if anyone thinks Brooklyn would go for this idea

Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Kelly Olynyk (maybe even give them back their '16 draft pick)
for
Brook Lopez.

I feel like IF Lopez can stay healthy, he can help do wonders for this team

PG-Rondo/Smart
SG-Bradley/Thornton
SF-Turner
PF-Sully
C-Lopez/Zeller

As for the Nets, they have Plumlee that they can now play full-time at center, if they agree to do this.

OR...maybe if the Celts wait til January 15 (when they can trade Avery Bradley) they can do something like this (MEGA-DEAL):

Green, Olynyk, Bradley, Wallace, Bass, Faverani and give them back their 2016 1st round pick
for
Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson and Andre Kirilenko

Maybe with a move like this our playoff chances can be salvaged. Sure, this likely kills our cap space for the summer of 2015 BUT on the flip side, who are we realistically going to land, anyway.

PG-Rondo/Smart
SG-JJ
SF-Kirilenko/Turner
PF-Sully
C-Lopez/Zeller

No to Brook Lopez - he's injury prone, soft, a defensive liability, and has less lateral quickness than KO.  We're not going to get any kind of a big guy until the draft, anyway.  I know it's hard, and Danny will trade Rondo for crap at some point, but patience, people - patience.  Piece by piece, year after year - that's where we are right now.  It could take 5 years, it could take 20 years - who knows?  This is what happens when you can't draft and keep trying to trade hall of famers for, well, anything, but that's who Ainge is, unfortunately.  Ugh.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
At this point I'd probably have Robin over Brook. He's not as offensively gifted, but he's more reliable and would fill a much bigger need.

I'd pass on Brook Lopez. If I'd want an offensive 7 footer who's defensively mediocre and just a decent rebounder, I'd rather have Kelly. At least we're not paying him way too much money.

Robin is the safer bet over the long haul.

brook Lopez or Hibbert are worth some risk though.

Sure I'd roll the dice on Lopez. He'd instantly be our best big.

Not for that package though. That's a large overpay.

Bad feet on a big = bad idea.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, Brooklyn was putting out feelers before the season for who may be interested in taking on Lopez. It may not have a true report, but it didn't exactly seem anybody would have to give up the farm to get him.

I feel similarly to you - he'd bring height, experience, and he is super skilled. I love KO and I know there are comparisons between the two based on lack of 'tougness', but Lopez has a good center of gravity and actually plays like a center.

Just curious about something.

I see a lot of people on this site love KO.

My question would be, why?

What's the appeal because so far, I am not seeing a whole lot.

And I certainly don't see him as "untradable" by any means.

I know he has pretty hair and all, but…….

Hate it.

Lopez would add nothing to the offense we are looking to run. Way to slow and takes up too much space in the paint. Our transition game would be killed if he was in the middle for us.

It's the hair man, it's the hair. Having your team led by a Viking is too cool to let this player go.

No thank you. The Nets took a win-now risk on Lopez and Johnson and lost. Now, their albatross contracts (that have next season on the books) are the primary reason the Net's picks, namely the 2016 one, are so valuable. We already won the deal; let's not go trade the winning pieces for some of the losing ones.

Chicks dig the Axel Rose look.
