Saw this on ProSports Daily so not my idea lol:

Boston gets Karl Anthony Towns

Philadelphia gets Jaylen Brown & Patrick Beverly

Minnesota get Ben Simmons, Robert Williams, Matesse Thybulle, Jaden Springer,  & Philly 1st round pick

So what do u guys & gals think?
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Gonna try and beat Nick to the punch;

.edit: to make this a bit more of a response, I'd like to add that I think trading 2 starters for 1 starter, when our bench is already struggling, is just going to create a bigger problem!

We are trading the best player, Brown and the 4th best player, Timelord in this trade. I don't think this trade makes us better. No thanks.

No way I am sending out Jaylen and Timelord for KAT.  That seems at best a sideways move to me.  Plus both Jaylen and Timelord are on pretty good contracts, we are getting a lot of value for those two right now, and even once Timelords extension hits we are paying 39 mil for both in 2022-2023.
KAT's contract is 34 mil in 2022-2023.  I think will get more overall production and better def from Brown and Timelord vs KAT and no one.

But I don't see KAT's ceiling as much (if ANY) higher than Jaylen's.  Both are all-star players, but Brown is the better 2 way player.

Obviously, Philly wouldn't.  Smart does nothing for them.

I'd do Brown and Williams for Towns, not sure why Philly needs to be in the trade.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I’m not commenting on the Cs doing this, but in terms of the trade itself, agree….. why would Minny want Simmons over Brown and Williams? Idiocy.

Well they had Williams.  The 2nd Minny/Philly trade is basically Brown, Beverley for Simmons, Thybulle, Springer, 22 1st

I'd trade Tatum for Towns: Brown fits much better next to KAT.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

If you've followed my posts since before JB was drafted, you know how much of a fan I am.  That said, KAT would probably be the only guy I trade him for.

The issue I have is, if you're trying to build a big 3, then trading JB is removing one of the 3 to add a second.

Smart and pieces will be the guy dealt at some point to add the third piece.  Where and for what, no idea.

The prospect of Smart/Timelord for KAT is intriguing but I'd have to know what is going on in Minnie before proposing something like that.  Seems I read that KAT did want out.

If the team wants to move Brown for KAT (which I don't but could understand), why include Philly?   And why send out Williams as well?   They should be holding onto him to use in a separate move to add a third near star in a large package.

I think it sucks.  the point of acquiring another star player is to add to the J's, not swap out one for someone else otherwise you're just shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic.

What hurts the C's in that effort is that the pile of assets Danny accrued over the years were squandered in his last few years.  Hoarding draft picks that he didn't use in deals for better players or to move up in the draft resulted in picking draft-and-stash players that were basically bad picks or resulted in lost opportunities to bring in better talent via deals.  C's no longer have extra draft picks to use in deals nor any high-ceiling players on rookie deals that could be used as significant trade chips.  I still hope our young players develop into solid rotation players (or better) but none of them could be used as a centerpiece of a deal for the 3rd star player we're looking for.
