That Giannis charge they overturned killed us. Not a bad effort overall though considering JT was a passenger

Lots of positive to take from this one though.

Kemba, Jaylen, Gordon, Marcus.

Wanamaker had 14.  Theis had 13 and 12.

Tough one.

But no Kemba for the most of the 2nd half and no Tatum all game.
And 7 fouls for Giannis and he's still playing.

Tatum needs to become the assist guy on nights like this

Tatum should have sat for a minute with someone in his ear. Then put him back in.

Giannis gets Summer League rules while the rest of us mortals have to deal with 6 fouls and you're out

Yeah, despite how bad we started off and how poorly Tatum played, that was the difference in the end.

Giannis got away with goaltending Hayward's shot, got away with fouling Theis even after the refs stopped play and reviewed it for a flagrant, and still decided that it wasn't even a foul when they saw it was his 6th, and then got away with a charge.

Celtics can play with anyone.  Tonight proves that.  Just stay healthy and keep Kemba in tact.

It's really just sad how much bad officiating influences the outcome of a game.  That missed goaltend was the real backbreaker -  a 5 point swing because they made a 3 on the other end after that missed call.  That and Giannis' 6th (or more) foul.

I'd never watch NBA basketball if I wasn't a Celtics fan.  Ever.

Tatum points against bucks: 3
Bucks points scored for Tatum: 2

Don't get me wrong, i'm not worried about Tatum. He's too good not to bounce back. But this was a tough watch.

The non-call on the goaltending leading to a 3 and a 5 point swing before that killed us.
The non-call on Giannis, even when reviewing a clear fall, just after that Killed us.
The charge being overturned never should have even happened.

Still, despite Tatum and the refs having awful games we were in it til the end and there were positives.

I kinda understand that reffing is hard, especially at the pace these guys play.

But to have the ability to review plays and still get it wrong is mind boggling. Also, I don’t understand how some plays are still not reviewable.

Yeah, so when they overturned the Giannis charge was that a challenge by Milwaukee? It's supposed to be pretty clear evidence to overturn it, and that certainly wasn't pretty clear.

Well, easy to win when you have 8 fouls for your star player.

Still, with Kemba only playing 20 minutes and Tatum being awful to have this kind of game is encouraging.

Still upset with how atrocious NBA officiating is.

I mean honestly there are a lot of positive take aways here. Kemba was great against in his limited minutes. The c's were in t despite Jaylen foul trouble Tatum's worst game all year. I mean they can't really stop giannis but i think this would be a long series.

Despite how absolutely furious and bitter I am right now, at least this proved that we’re a legit competitor. Kemba getting healthy and Tatum getting either his worst or second worst game for the season out of the way and boom.

Small consolation as it stands, but ah well

I still can't understand how you can blow the whistle and stop play after someone hits the opponent in the nuts, review it for a potential flagrant, and then decide it wasn't even a foul. How the heck can you justify that????

So i think it actually was. the thing is Smart moved again After Giannis was going into his shooting motion. Once the guy goes up if you're still moving its a blocking foul. Now Giannis palm strike against Theis, and the missed goaltending i think were awful calls. But they got that one right.
