The West now goes through LA again as Lakers take down Jazz to clinch #1 seed.

Man, who'd imagine 10 years later they're back on top again. Davis putting up 42/12 tonight.
Took them embarrassingly long to rebuild, and IMO they’ve built a team that has seriously big weaknesses. Excited to see them get bounced in the playoffs
^^^inb4 Portland sneaks in as the eighth seed and takes them down in the first round.

I sure hope so. Portland needs to start winning games while Memphis needs to lose out
Memphis haven't won yet, so it’s not impossible. I think Dame and CJ could absolutely scorch LA
Dame and CJ couldn't get past AD and the Pels in the 1st round a couple years ago.  Dame will get his numbers but whether that equates to winning playoff games is a different story.  Blazers will need someone else to step up to have a chance to get by the Lakers.

Why focus on a bad series from 2 years ago?

Lillard had a terrible series, worst playoff performance of his career.  Never broke 20 points.  Shot 35% from the field and 30% from 3 (for 41.5% eFG%) with 4 turnovers a game. I believe largely due to Jrue Holiday playing great D on him.

But then they went to the WCF last year without their 3rd best player.  Why not focus on that?

Lillard was less than stellar against the Warriors, mainly guarded by Klay (22.3ppg, 8.5apg with 4.5 turnoves, 47% eFG%) but at least he got them there (playing great against the Thunder and with some big games against the Nuggets though McCollum was probably better that series).

The Lakers have some bigger, capable defenders in Caldwell-Pope and Green, but Lillard's also put up 48, 31, 29 on them this year too.

I don't know what the odds are (not great), but they have the best shot of any #8 seed in a long time of taking out a #1, especially with Nurkic back.
Jrue Holiday is underrated and he was great that series.  However he isn't Lebron.
Dame will be the 3rd best star on the court against the Lakers.  Nurkic didn't do much to slow down AD in the series 2 years ago.  This season the Lakers are 2-1 against the Blazers.  Given the strange situation this year, I'd give the Blazers a better upset chance but still not very much.

Beating OKC and Nuggets last year doesn't impress me much and then they got swept by the Durant-less Warriors.

Ha, how far we've come where a Durant-less Warriors is now considered an unimpressive team you shouldn't be swept by.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Tj Waren with 17 first quarter points on 6/6 shooting. thats after 53 and 34 the first two games of the bubble.
TJ Warren or MJ Warren?

At this rate this comparison is disrespectful to TJ Warren.

The more the Pacers win, the more likely it is we face a healthy Sixers team in the 1st round.

Ugh...  :(

Healthy? Simmons just went down, and their fans do not like the look of it

Edit: nvm, just saw Woj tweet saying it doesn't seem too bad.

I think I'd rather Philly than MJ Warren

I think I'd much rather face the Sixers in the first round at this point. People are overrating them. The Pacers are tough with Oladipo back and the way TJ Warren is playing, and so are the Heat. The Heat beat us without Butler, they are not going to be an easy out with their 3pt shooting and Adebayo inside.

It's still early in his development but Michael Porter Jr is looking VERY good....he and Jokic are looking like World Beaters together.

Yet ANOTHER potential star to gum stuff up out west for LAL.

I was hoping we'd be the team to take a chance on MPJ's health.  He's made of glass and I understand why we didn't, but the talent is undeniable.  Dude can ball.

OKC routed Lakers and kept AD to only 9 points wow.

But always a great day when the Celtics win and Lakers lose!

He went 14 to Denver. We had the 27th pick RW3.

Lakers will need the help of Silver and the refs to advance all the way to the Finals imo specially with the no HCA set up.

Lakers are a very flawed team that will only go as far as AD takes them..lebron is still good but he is finally mortal now and even the likes of Portland or Pelicans can take them down as an 8thseed.

We can handle Bam or even AD but Brad is too enamored with his freakin Small ball...put Timelord in spurts and watch how we demolish these so called bigs.
