lol.

I don't hate the move for Farve. I just don't think he can do with the Jets what Montana did with the Chiefs.

at least he'll make that 6-10 team more intersting. they might get to 9-7 and just miss the wildcard.

Juicy....Farve is the anti-Belichick player and Mangini screwed the Pats last season.  For those of us who saw Favre as the self-absorbed overrated jerk that he is, this is going to be fun to watch.

In the Meadowlands:  Favre 7-23 4 int 6 sacks.
       Foxboro             12-30 6 int 8 sacks.

The only thing this does for the Jets is raise ticket prices and sell jerseys.

The only reason that Favre won't do for the jets what Montana did for the Chiefs is that Favre is about himself and Montana never was.

Hope he has fun getting whooped by the Patriots two times a year. What an idiot...throws away his legacy like this to play for an abomination of a football team.

Get used to being on your back Brett...now you can go out like a chump.

I'll be posting this topic in October - "Should Favre have stayed retired?"

EEI mentioned that the Dolphins already contacted him.

Wouldn't it make sense to pick him up? he knows the Jets system and he certainly is a better back up than Matt Cassel.. I'm sure he'd love to come here

Pennington still thinks he can start (and when healthy, he's probably right).  New England doesn't offer that.

Plus, the Pats already have 4 QB's on their roster and they have high hopes for Kevin O'Connell. He will most likely be the backup QB to Brady soon and Cassel could be let go. It just wouldn't make sense for them to sign an often injured backup QB.

I got a chuckle.   :D

Love to see the Pats sign Pennington as a backup and say good bye to the rest of the crew.
I love my kids, call me a sap - it's true.

I don't know if any of you are watching the press conference, but... I effin love favre. He's awsome. He has to be the most genuine human being on the planet.

Edit: "I'm not a talker, I'm not gonna hold a team meeting, not gonna hold a ra ra ra. I'm gonna show up, do what I do. Pat guys on their shoulder, hug em', pick em' up when they fall down, and hope that they do the same for me." <--- or something like that. he is effin awesome.

That's pretty wild though.  I don't even follow football and I can't imagine him playing on any team other than Green Bay.   But I mean... I guess it's no different than seeing Michael Jordan in a Wizards Uniform.   If the guy wanted to play, let him play.

Kinda reminds me of the whole Jay Leno thing.   Umm... yeah... I know that doesn't make any sense, but...

A few years ago it was pretty much decided that Conan O'Brien was going to be Jay's successor at the Tonight Show.  They had plans to open up a brand new studio and broadcast the entire show in high definition.  The thought was... by the time the few years were over, Jay would be ready to call it quits and move on.

Well now that the day is approaching, Jay Leno is discovering that he has pretty much no intention of giving up his latenight talkshow duties.  He loves it too much.   NBC is forced to give the Tonight Show to Conan, because they made a commitment to moving on (otherwise they have to pay O'Brien a multimillion dollar settlement)... meanwhile Jay will be a huge free agent and will likely make double from another network to  host a rival show on another channel.

Sorta the same kinda thing, right?   A little? :)

No thread yet? Maybe I missed it

Anyway, I cannot wait to see this. I used to wonder who I hated more, the Jets or Favre. Now I don't have to decide.

He's going to KILL his team in the playoffs, just like he has every year for the last decade or so.

Not to mention his "awww shucks" act won't fly in New York. They're going to rip apart the prima donna interception machine and it's gonna be awesome!

Just my opinion though
