Tempting to say this is the best rookie playoff series ever.
Obviously Kareem was on another planet (but was bounced in the second round of the 1970 playoffs), but I'd be interested to hear from our older bloggers if they think it is harder for a rookie these days.
Alvan Adams is interesting too. Crazy good NBA finals in '76 - highest scorer for the Suns in a 6-game series (which Dave Cowens dominated), where he shot the highest FG% on their whole team (higher than Paul Westphal). Obviously the C's left him more open than Westphal, but still..
Elgin Baylor actually shot a pretty low percentage during his 3-series playoff run in 1960. Just above 40%
I think Tatum is easily 3rd best already, maybe 2nd (just in front of Adams).
Curious to hear any other thoughts about historical comparisons for rookies in playoffs.
