Why or why not?

I would, Boston needs a backup PG and he can play great team defense.

No.

Banks is over payed.  he makes more money then Scali.  He has one more year on his contract then Scali

And finally, he didn't play the way the Celtics needed him to play.

Agree with wdleehi.  This kid showed no game and a bad attitude while he was here.  No way do I want to tie up space under the luxury tax / salary cap in him.

No, he's a worse player than Scal and has a worse contract.

Banks need to learn at a lower level than a contender. Miami isn't a bad place for him, he can back up Mario Chalmers.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
No.  He brings nothing to the table that we can't get for less money and a better contract.  At least Scal is an enjoyable clubhouse guy with a contract that will expire soon.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I agree he has a worse contract and is not as good of a locker room guy, but I 100% think he is a much better player. His game has improved quite a bit since he played in Boston.

apperntly no one informed phx or the rest of the league of his improving play style.

I'm intoxicated with his speed, he's matured as a person over the years and would be a good fit.

No.  Banks deal one of the league's worst.  Scal's is shorter for less money.  He obviously is making too much, but the deal is not an albatross.

what are you basing this on? he seemed to be a pretty terrable fit in phx, where his speed should have allowed him to grow as a player, and he whined about losing his spot.

what signs has he shown of maturing?

Based upon what?  I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but I haven't heard any evidence of this.  I know that neither D'Antoni nor Riley was enamored with him.

Who would have an easier time playing a solid role on a contender? I say contender because that's what this team is. I definitely think Scalabrine would be a better piece, I'm quite comfortable with Scal as my second big man (behind a solid backup center type). I'm not at all comfortable with Banks being my backup point guard.

If they were both asked to be the second best player on a 15 win team, who would do better? I'd say Banks. He didn't do very well with that opportunity last season, hopefully he'll do better next time round.
