I laughed out loud before reading the post - and I understand you're just thinking out loud, so I'm not gonna chastise you or anything, but this deal makes little to no sense for anyone involved - how many years does Shaq really have left?  (well if he only plays in the playoffs, maybe 10 more...) but really, this would set us back and do little good for the Suns as well... odd odd trade idea

tp, i did the same thing. these trade ideas for ray make my head hurt.

if were throwin gout crazy trades for the sake of crazy trades, here's a trade that works in the trade machine, what do you guys think lol

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Trading a really affordable 23 year old starting center and 32 year old key cog on a championship team for a 36 year old center with conditioning questions and a 31 year old defensive specialist isn't trying to win today...its trying to win yesterday. I think we're giving up the best play in the trade and taking the biggest risk. Its a no-no

I love this trade if its Shaq, Barbosa & Diaw for Ray Allen, Perkins, Scals & Priutt. You have to throw something young in there for them to bite on to give up Diaw & Barbosa.

No thanks. At this stage in his career he's not an offensive force, can't rebound well enough and Perk is twice the defender anyway.

Celtics- Raja Bell and Shaquille Oneal

Phoenix- Kendrick Perkins, Scalabrine, and Ray Allen

Celtics would still have a 3 point shooter with excellent D.

Phoenix- would get a tough C who is young and an excellent shooter
???
Ray Allen is in his prime, Perk is still a player who is getting to his prime and you wan to trade our two starters for a center who makes a circus of everything and i seriously doubt that he can average 10 ppg next season...
Sorry plain stupid, and pleas do not put Ray Ray and Raja Bell into the same sentence(ups I just did).

stop it with the ray allen trade ideas.
i think he can still be very helpfull for our chances to repeat this yr.
will discuss trading him next yr.

I second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth that. We just won #17 and I honestly don't see any teams willing to part with any players that can help us as much as Ray for next season.
Anything is possible!!!

I have an idea! ;D

Anyway we can come up with an automated system on Celticsblog? A system that instantly locks Ray Allen trade threads the moment they are formed and bans the CB member that creates it? What do you guys think? ;)

I certainly love that idea  ;D except we'll probably break about 10 rules on this site doing it, getting ourselves banned :-X lol

I blame that quote about Danny saying he would've traded Larry Bird.  What some people are failing to recognize is that he was referring Larry Bird circa 1990, not Larry Bird following Banner #16 in 1986.

So until the C's actually don't win a championship, all talk of trading any of the Big Three should end.

I do not understand all these trade ideas!
WE JUST WON NO. 17...

It's just a fun way to kill the long summer. Nobody actually thinks Danny Ainge will do any of these. People suggest them and usually everyone bashes the proposal. But occasionally, someone will actually propose a decent trade that gets everybody thinking.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

If we're gonna speak about trading away sweet baby Ray for anyone it should obviously be Allen Iverson.

There is an automatic way not to have this bother you.

If you see in the title of a thread in 'trade ideas' that include the word 'Allen', don't open it.
