All day I would give up a lottery protected first round pick for Sean Williams.  We're going to be picking last next year anyway!  Even still, Williams talent now is deserving of a first round pick next year.

He has everything we NEED on the court!  Youth, athleticism, shot blocking, rebounding, low post PRESENCE!

Obviously, he is a knucklehead.  But with our CORE of veterans, I'm sure they could keep him in check.  He smokes weed.  Big deal.  Please, name an NBA player that doesn't!  This team would not allow anyone to step out of line.  Management understands this.  Why do you think they took Giddens?

Now if this was pre-NEW BIG THREE, thats a different story.  "Components" of The Big Three will be together another four years.  Plenty of time to get this knucklehead straightened out.

As far as comparing him to Telfair.  Telfair doesn't have the game-changing talent like Sean.

Imagine a youthful frontline of Perk and Williams down the road.  Maybe not much offense but, they sure would make teams think otherwise when coming down the lane!

This is a no-brainer!

GET'ER DONE, DANNY!!!!!!
We don't own a first round pick next year.

And since teams can't trade 1st round draft picks 2 years in a row, we can't trade the 2010 pick.

I have no interest whatsoever in Swift.

Sean Williams is another story altogether - I would jump at the chance to get him. I don't know what the price would be, but he'd be a marvelous antidote to the first dreadful big move we made this summer.

Just seems to be immature to me, which is something that's a whole lot easier to change than lazy.

In NBA public relations vernacular does immature = lazy? I've read for years scouting reports, coaches and GM's using the word immature when a player is on their team. Once that player moves on to another team, the term that usually is then used about him is that he was lazy or not a hard worker.

Just a thought.

PR vernacular can say whatever it wants.

In my experience on the bench, a good coach can fix immature. Lazy is terminal.

williams would be great to see on this team. He could come in and contribute this season. We'd have to move baby or powe for it to make sense though. No reason to bury one of those three. That's why it makes sense when one poster said trade BBD for lowry, but I'm not a huge lowry fan at this point.

I have always liked Sean Williams' defensive presence, but could he be acting up again? Why would the Nets want to get rid of a great shot blocker? As we all know, Williams ran into a lot of trouble at Boston College. I just wonder if a bad attitude is starting to surface again. I would be wary.

He didn't really act up he just smoked a lot of weed and in stupid places. He would smoke weed in front of the dining halls. He's not so much of a trouble maker he's just not that bright.

I don't have a huge problem with a player who gets high; a large percentage of the league does, including a number of the current Celtics (that's all I'll say on that particular issue).  However, I do take exception to a play who *continues* to smoke after he's been told that if he gets caught again, he's off the team.  That means Williams put his own recreation over the good of his teammates.  That's unacceptable to me, and for that reason alone, I wouldn't want him on the Celts.

If there is any way at all to get Williams I say we do it, even if we have to take on Swift's contract as well...

Exactly. We need a Big that has more abilities than BBD and Powe. I said it earlier here that BBD should be traded, has Powe is perfect for PF position in any rotation of minutes. I'm not definite on Lowry, but anything other than a big or small SG. We should trade Scal and other half of MLE for Stromile and Willaims. That would give us enough bigs. Then trade BBD anywhere for a SG that can effectively play SF. Maybe someone like Demarr Johnson/Spurs or Kareem Rush/Indiana in sign-trade deals. Stick with Pruitt at least till February, that's fair for him.

Rondo/House/Pruitt
Allen/Allen/Giddens
Pierce/Rush/BWalker
KG/Willaims/Powe
Perk/O'B/Swift

That would give us 3 at every position at every player can either step UP or DOWN a position if needed to run our offense differently against certain teams.
Can't stop, Rondo!
